Steve Englebright is an American politician and environmentalist who has served in the New York State Assembly since 1992. He represents the 4th Assembly District on Long Island, which includes parts of Suffolk County. Englebright is known for his advocacy for environmental protection, conservation, and renewable energy initiatives. He has authored and sponsored numerous bills that aim to reduce pollution, protect water quality, preserve open spaces, and promote sustainable development. Englebright holds a Ph.D. in ecological planning from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and is a professor of environmental policy at the same institution.
